THE CITY OF SUGAR LAND PROPOSES A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE.

THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 6.09 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $0.00.

City of Sugar Land Property Taxes


  • 2016 PROPOSED TAX RATE $0.31595 per $100
  • 2015 TAX RATE $0.31595 per $100
  • EFFECTIVE TAX RATE $0.30454 per $100
  • ROLLBACK TAX RATE $0.32748 per $100

Local Option (City) Exemptions:


  • Homestead 10% of Assessed Value
  • Over-65 $70,000
  • Disabled Person $70,000
Residents must apply for exemptions through the Fort Bend Central Appraisal District. A resident may not receive both Over-65 and Disabled Person Exemption, but can receive a homestead exemption concurrent with the Over-65 or Disabled Person Exemption.
