Dr. Barkat Charania

The Census is important so that we all know where we stand in terms of our congressional representation. And how much money should we get from the federal government, in regards to all the programs we have got. Starting from children of Snap, for example, hospitals, schools, fire fighters, and a lot of other things.

I was on the Census committee 10 years ago, and so I know how important it is for the City of Sugar Land to get 100% count. We know these Census dollars will help us with hospitals, schools and roads.  It’s just so important for people to fill out the Census.

The Census is important to us because it provides us an accurate count of our community, which provides us a better opportunity to gain more money from the federal government for building our roads, for taking care of our infrastructure and improving the mobility within Sugar Land.
