Three Ways to Celebrate Fourth of July in Sugar Land

Sugar Landers are searching for new ways to celebrate Independence Day weekend in a socially-distant manner in an effort to safely stop the spread of COVID-19. Luckily, Sugar Land is full of alternate activities the whole family can enjoy.

Watch the Red, White and Boom Virtual Event

The annual Red, White and Boom will look a little different this year, as the event has been moved online. Sugar Landers are encouraged to participate online July 4 at 8 p.m., when a pre-recorded celebration video will feature local residents, businesses and city staff showcasing community pride. All of this is topped off with a virtual fireworks finale. To participate, head over to Sugar Land Parks and Recreation’s Facebook page:

Support Local Businesses in Sugar Land

Help us support local business and our front line workers! The Sugar Land Sweet Cash program is a great way to support small businesses that may have endured economic uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic. All you have to do is purchase a gift card from any Sugar Land business – the Sweet Cash program will then purchase an additional gift card from a different participating business. After sending proof of your gift card purchase, you get a gift card for 50% the value of your initial purchase from a participating business. You’ll then have a chance to pay it forward to a frontline worker or organization. The Sweet Cash program runs until supplies last, so don’t hesitate!

Visit Sugar Land Memorial Park

Want to get some outdoors? Check out our Sugar Land’s 420-acre park for all your walking, biking and fishing needs. Make sure to continue practicing social distancing and wear a face covering, if possible. Memorial Park features the Veterans Memorial, where visitors are able to reflect on the lives of Sugar Land soldiers who died serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.
