Healthcare Heroes Week

#HonkForHeroes Car Parades Cancelled

Due to inclement weather, the #HonkforHeroes car parades have been cancelled. See below for all the ways to honor our healthcare workers safely from home or from a distance.

At the August 18, 2020 City Council meeting, Mayor Zimmerman proclaimed August 24-28, 2020 “Healthcare Heroes Week" in Sugar Land. The overall goal of Healthcare Heroes week in Sugar Land is to inspire the community to show local healthcare heroes that their work is seen and appreciated and that their daily sacrifices have not been forgotten. Healthcare Heroes Week was rescheduled to September 21-25 due to anticipated impacts of Hurricane Laura.

The week is  envisioned to be a time of community celebration, with several activities organized by the City of Sugar Land (see  below). The occasion is also intended to serve as a catalyst for  the  community  to  initiate  their  own  healthcare  worker  recognition  activities,  even  beyond  Healthcare Heroes Week.
