2009 GOLDEN CONCERTS IN THE PARK

Throughout April and May, Oyster Creek Park was the place to be on a Sunday afternoon to relax in tranquil setting and enjoy live music from some of the region’s best bands.  In 2009 the Golden Concerts in the Park series celebrated the City’s 50th Anniversary by playing music from each decade since its incorporation in 1959.  Residents bopped, rocked and grooved to a variety of bands performing music from the '50s through to the current day.

In addition, during the band breaks at each concert the audience was treated to Chinese cultural performances which showcased Chinese dance and music.  These performances provided a new element to the concert series, enhancing it with extra color, grace and beautiful lilting melodies.

Popular children’s favorites such as moonwalks, face painting, magicians and clowns also returned for 2009, ensuring an afternoon for the whole family to enjoy.
