Over 25,000 people joined with family, friends and neighbors to celebrate the nation’s 233rd birthday on July 4th 2009 at Oyster Creek Park.

As the summer sun shone down on the celebrations, cooling stations, water slides and plenty of free water kept everyone as comfortable as possible to enjoy the activities, entertainment and food delights provided in the lead-up to the fireworks grand finale.

Shortly after 9:30pm a brilliant spectacle of patterns and colors lit up the sky, as the largest July 4th fireworks show in Fort Bend County got under way. Twenty minutes later a special set piece marking the City’s own 50th Anniversary dazzled the crowd, before a final blaze of fireworks brought Red, White and Bluefest 2009 to a close.
