Sugar Land Parks & Recreation maintains the City’s 27 parks, which encompass nearly 2,300 acres of parkland and over 20 miles of trails. The Department also maintains the municipal pool at City Park and 2 splash pads.
Recreation
Sugar Land Parks & Recreation offers a variety of recreational programs for youth, adults and seniors of the community, including numerous leisure classes, fitness classes, day camps, athletic camps, outdoor recreation and more. Currently, the Recreation Division oversees our two activity centers which house a large variety of recreation programs.
The Recreation Division also manages facility rentals and reservations for park pavilions, community centers and other City facilities.
Special Events
Sugar Land Parks & Recreation hosts a large variety of special events throughout the year, including the City’s annual Memorial Day Ceremony, July 4 Celebration, Christmas Tree Lighting and more.
Maintenance & Development
The Maintenance and Development Division maintains the City’s parks, trails, splash pads and 2 special-use facilities to ensure optimal safety, functionality and cleanliness for residents. The Maintenance Division maintains amenities including playgrounds, sports fields, canoe launches, disc golf courses, a skate park, dog park, BMX track and more.
