Summer Day Camp 2023

This summer, Sugar Land Parks & Recreation will be hosting individual day camps jam packed with fun, unique and exciting activities!

  • All camps are taught in either the Imperial Park Recreation Center or other Sugar Land facilities. 
  • Cost is per camper, per week, and separated by residential status.

SPECIALTY CAMPS

Chess Camp

Join Chess Wizards for challenging chess lessons, exciting games and cool prizes! You'll improve chess skills, meet new friends and work out your most powerful muscle - your brain!

Location: Eldridge Park Community Center (2511 Eldridge Rd)
Dates: July 17-21
Times: Full Day: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; Half Day: 9 a.m.-noon or Noon-3 p.m.
Full Day Cost: $388 Residents & $485 Non-Residents

STREM HQ Academy Camp

If the sound of robot battles, Minecraft architecture, Roblox business tycoon, Scratch game design, 3d CAD design, robot racing and robot obstacle courses sound like an amazing time, this summer day camp is the one for you!

Participants will explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics with our proprietary curriculum through fun, hands-on and guided activities.

Little Veterinarian Camp

Become a paw-some and purr-fect veterinarian! Camp participants will role-play the key responsibilities of a veterinarian and learn how to care for a dog and/or cat. These future veterinarians will learn how to remove ticks, perform a nose-to-tail exam, understand proper animal nutrition and  hydration, suture lacerations and more!

Little Wilderness Medicine Camp

Conquer the great outdoors! Camp participants will roe-play emergency situations in the wild and learn how to prepare for natural disasters. These future emergency medics will learn about snake bites, hypothermia, tourniquets, poisonous plants, distress signals, forest fires, tornadoes, mosquito bites and more!

Basketball Camp

Taught by the National Basketball Academy, this camp is designed with over fifty years of camp coaching expertise to help players of all levels improve their game. Whether you're a novice or seasoned player, the TNBA Basketball Camp will help get your game to the next level!

Sports Camp

Taught by Overtime Athletics, this camp will help campers develop skills such as teamwork, confidence, acceptance, and sportsmanship and learn a new sport each day to allow for multiple skills to be developed throughout the week. Sports introduced include Soccer, Flag Football, Ultimate Frisbee, Kickball, Wiffle Ball, Dodgeball, and more. Every day we celebrate and recognize sportsmanship, positive attitude, and teamwork with OTA Awards (a camp favorite).

Learn the fundamentals of volleyball in a positive and supportive atmosphere. Great for beginners and players wanting to refresh their skills!

Work on enhancing skills in a positive and supportive atmosphere.

Participants will learn the fundamentals of the game with quick paced drills and fun activities to keep your boys and girls moving, smiling and having a good time - all while learning the game of volleyball!

Taught by UK International Soccer, this one-week soccer camp will help will help learn dribbling, control, shooting, running with the ball, defending and more! Our professional certified coaches are selected for their knowledge, coaching ability and commitment to creating a fun and positive learning environment for each child!

All Sorts of Sports Camp

The perfect place for kids to be introduced to the world sports and an active, healthy lifestyle.  This multi-sport camp includes sports like basketball, indoor soccer, volleyball and flag football.  Other games include dodgeball, whiffle ball, kickball, and capture the flag.  These games teach children sport-specific skills while learning the importance of teamwork, losing and winning with dignity, and communication with friends and peers. Play hard and have fun!

All Sorts of Sports Junior Camp

This camp uses FUN to teach problem solving skills and fundamentals for sports including: throwing, catching, kicking, running and teamwork. It provides structured simple activities, individual and team building challenges along with simple, small -sided competitions to develop and engage young athletes.
