Sugar Land Parks & Recreation offers a wide variety of leisure classes and recreation programs for many different ages and skill levels.

Registration for classes begins on the first Monday of the month and closes the seventh of each month at 9:30 p.m.

Dance to great music and burn calories without even realizing it!

Yoga & Pilates

Custom Core Pilates

Training from the inside out using various techniques to build upon your strengths and banish your weaknesses. All fitness levels welcome for this class.

Cost: 1 class/week: $40 per month; 2 classes/week: $60 per month

Pilates Class

Yoga for Everybody

In this yoga class, explore yoga’s mind, body and breath connection and discover renewed calmness, strength, balance, focus and flexibility.

Yoga with Varsha

A spiritual and ascetic discipline which includes breath control, simple meditation and the adoption of specific bodily postures for health and relaxation.

Martial Arts

Tae Kwon Do

This Tae Kwon Do class, taught by Master Jenny Pless, will enhance each participant’s self-esteem, build confidence, develop discipline, teach self-defense and strengthen one’s mind and body. All individuals ages 5 years and older are welcome! 

Location: Eldridge Park Community Center
Days: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
Time(s): 5-6 p.m. and 6-7 p.m.
CostResidents: $40 for two classes/week; $50 for three classes/week; Non-Residents: $50 for two classes/week, $60 for three classes/week

Tae Kwon Do

Tai Chi - Taught by Hung Hoang

Taught by Instructor Hung Hoang, this class will involve a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and be accompanied by deep breathing.

Tai Chi - Taught by USA Tai Chi Academy

A class designed to create harmonious flow of chi or life force in the body.

General Fitness / Boot Camps

Camp Gladiator 

It’s more than a gym, it’s more than a boot camp, it’s an experience! Camps are five weeks of unlimited, one-hour, full-body workouts.

Location(s):  Eldridge Park, Lost Creek Park and Memorial Park.

Functional Balance Training

These classes are to help individuals improve and develop a healthy lifestyle by simply understanding and learning proper posture and body movements. Learn which of your muscles are over-active and which are under-active so you can address them properly and prevent future injuries. Call Frank at 713-269-6617

Inspired Fitness  

These 60-minute stroller fitness classes cater to moms of all fitness levels: pregnant moms, new moms, and moms with one or more stroller-aged children. Our interval-based classes incorporate cardio, strength, and core for a total body workout. For cost and more information, contact Jennifer.
