First Colony Universally Accessible Playground

2020 Swim Lessons 

Swim Lessons will once again be held at the city pool this summer! These classes will be offered at all levels and are taught by certified swim lesson instructors. Pricing for these two week sessions are $73 per session for Residents of Sugar Land or $88 per session for Non-Residents. Each session is scheduled for two weeks, Tuesday-Thursday. Dates: Sessions ongoing May 12–Aug. 13
Time: Class times range from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. start times

Game Making School

Level up and have a blast at the Game Making Academy! Show off to your friends and family by learning how to create games for computers, phones and the web! View flyer for more information.

Young Rembrandts

The Young Rembrandts’ elementary-age curriculum is designed to teach basic to advanced drawing skills, art techniques and vocabulary. Drawing is the bedrock skill required for future artistic success. Participants are given the skills to express creativity, see increased art abilities, and learn self-confidence and self-esteem.

Days: Mondays
Time: 5:30 - 6:40 p.m.
Ages: 6-12 years


2020 Houston Rockets Spring Break Camp 

The  Houston Rockets and the National Basketball Academy Spring Break Camp is designed for boys and girls, ages 5 to 15, who are looking to improve their basketball skills. Throughout the clinic the participants will receive personal instruction in all areas of the game including dribbling, shooting, passing, blocking, and defense while learning lessons such as good sportsmanship and the team concept. 2020 Spring Rockets Mini Dribblers Clinic

The Houston Rockets Mini Dribblers program is an excellent way to introduce our young, future basketball players to the fundamentals of dribbling and working alongside others. Each participant will join in four, one hour and fifteen-minute sessions teaching and improving ball handling. This clinic will include a basketball, t-shirt, and a ticket to a future Houston Rockets game and is designed for ages 5-10. View flyer for more information.

2020 Spring Volleyball Instructional League

Improve your skills over this month-long instructional league!

Are you looking for high skilled coaches to teach your childthe fundamental skills of volleyball for ages 8-15? Participants willexperience fundamental and game-like drills during this 6 week session in agame like setting. Each day all participants will work on the fundamentals ofthe sport during organized drills and also have the chance each day to improveon these skills in a game-like setting. During the 6 week session the classwill work towards a competitive setting where a tournament will be held withawards being given out at the end of the session. Martial Arts


The sport of unarmed combat derived from jujitsu is intended to train the body and mind and involves using holds and leverage to unbalance the opponent. Individuals 4 years and older welcome! View the flyer for more information.

Tae Kwon Do

This class will enhance each participant’s self-esteem, build confidence, develop discipline, teach self-defense and strengthen one’s mind and body. Individuals ages 5 years and older are welcome! View flyer for more information.
