Sugar Land, TX – Sugar Land is looking for volunteers interested in giving their time, energy, and expertise to serve as members on the Animal Advisory Board and Independent Ethics Review Board.
The deadline for applications is 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 6. Applications can be found at the Serve Sugar Land website at www.sugarlandtx.gov/volunteer. Applications can be found under the City Secretary tab.
The groups provide valuable insight and advice on various issues and events.
The Animal Advisory Board reviews and recommends procedures for the care and maintenance of animal shelter facilities and impounded animals to ensure compliance with state law; and periodically reviews the city animal control ordinances and makes recommendations for revisions.
The Independent Ethics Review Board reviews alleged violations to the Rules of Ethical Conduct, applying to city officials such as City Council members and appointed board members.
Boards and commissions are essential to the operation of city government. Service can be a rewarding and hands-on experience.
