Applications Open for Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council Class of 2021-22

Sugar Land, TX – Applications for the 2021-2022 Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council (MYAC) class are open through Sept. 22 at 11:59 p.m.

The monthly meetings will be held virtually via Zoom, with potential in-person meetings scheduled in the future. Interested students should submit completed applications at www.sugarlandtx.gov/volunteer.

The program’s goal is to empower youth to become active community members by providing opportunities to engage in local government and public service. As part of MYAC, students meet city staff from various departments as well as their local elected officials, work with other Sugar Land students and commit to making a lasting impact on the city’s future.

Eligible students must be high school juniors for the 2021-2022 school year. Students must live in Sugar Land or communities in the city’s extraterritorial jurisdiction that have adopted strategic partnership agreements with the city, including portions of Riverstone. Addresses inside city limits can be verified at www.sugarlandtx.gov/myneighborhood; to confirm addresses in the ETJ, contact myac@sugarlandtx.gov.

For more information or questions, visit http://www.sugarlandtx.gov/myac, email myac@sugarlandtx.gov or call (281) 275-2329.
