1. What are “Strategic Outcomes”?

Strategic Outcomes are vision statements that describe an intended goal. For Sugar Land, these are high-level descriptions of where we want to be as a city and the strategies that will get us there.

2. Why is the City focusing on goals in this manner?

We are setting out to do things differently. The actions we take over the next few years will determine what the future in the lifecycle of our city will look like. Strategic Outcomes are a vision for future success that will enable us to stay relevant and preserve the quality of life for current and future residents.

3. What are Organizational Priorities?

Organizational priorities are specific projects and/or initiatives that are dynamic, broad and significant in scale. These initiatives have broad organizational support, and are crucial to the long-term success of the City.

4. What are “All-in Initiatives” and “First-Team Mindset”?

All-In initiatives

All-In Initiatives galvanize participation from all City departments with a “first-team mindset.” The intention is to push organizational priorities forward.

First-Team Mindset

A cross-departmental team across the organization – representing operational, financial, strategic, innovative and values-based perspectives – purposefully designed to enhance the alignment of all of our efforts throughout the entire organization.
