The city currently maintains 846 miles of sidewalks and 445 lane miles of streets.
The city performs a citywide pavement assessment of all its streets every four years. This assessment assigns a Pavement Condition Rating (PCR) of zero to 100 for each segment. It is the city’s goal to maintain each segment at a PCR rating of 65 or greater. On average, the city’s streets are rated at 72.
Sidewalk repairs are handled by the city’s sidewalk rehabilitation program at no additional cost to residents. Through an annual sidewalk condition assessment, coupled with resident requests, sidewalks are identified and prioritized for repair or replacement based on the program’s evaluation criteria. Repair work is done by city staff or a vendor.
