Assistant City Manager - Chief Financial Officer

Michelle McCrimmon joined the City of Sugar Land as the Assistant City Manager / Chief Financial Officer in October 2025. Michelle has over 30 years of accounting and finance experience, 15 of which were with the City of Orlando, Florida. Prior to joining Orlando, she worked for 13 years with Ernst & Young LLP, including 5 years as an Audit Senior Manager.
Prior to joining Sugar Land, she was the Chief Financial Officer for the City of Orlando, Florida. In Orlando, McCrimmon oversaw its Budget, Financial Reporting, Accounting Operations, Treasury & Debt Management, Procurement, Real Estate Management, Risk Management, Fleet, Facilities, and Workday departments.
McCrimmon holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of California, Riverside and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas Permian Basin and holds a Florida CPA license.
In her current role as Assistant City Manager and Chief Financial Officer, McCrimmon oversees the Budget, Finance, Economic Development, Redevelopment, and Strategic and Governmental Affairs, including Data & Innovation departments of Sugar Land.
