Patrol

It is the mission of the Patrol Division to:

  • Identify, analyze, and to respond to the underlying circumstances that create problems which require police action.
  • Provide delivery of uniform police service and initial response to incidents and offenses.

Bike Patrol

Bicycles have long been used for patrol purposes, including in setting like special events, parks, neighborhood patrols, and the Sugar Land Town Center area. We have a dedicated team consisting of six officers. Our team is equipped with five PD mountain bikes and two electric mountain bikes.

The integration of bicycles into law enforcement not only serves as an innovative and eco-friendly alternative to traditional patrol cars, but also allows officers to establish stronger connections with the community they serve. By pedaling through parks and neighborhoods, these officers can engage in face-to-face interactions with residents, fostering a sense of trust and cooperation. The quiet nature of bicycles also enables officers to effectively patrol areas without causing unnecessary disruptions to the peaceful atmosphere.

Beat Accountability

This is the departments mechanism to maintain accountability for crime trends and quality of life issues for our residents. Staff meets on a monthly basis to collaborate information in addition to weekly crime focus meetings.
