Sugar Land, TX, May 30, 2025 – The Sugar Land Civic Arts Division, in partnership with the international design nonprofit Better Block, is proud to announce a six‑month, art‑centered activation of a site in the Brookside/Belknap neighborhood. From September 26–27, 2025, the Better Block team will install temporary enhancements—including seating, art installations, and community gathering spaces—designed to foster connection and spark long‑term improvements.
To kick off this program, we invite residents, business owners, and all Sugar Land stakeholders to join us for a series of Community Workshops. TODAY, we will host the first one from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at City Hall, located at 2700 Town Center Blvd, Sugar Land, TX 77479. This workshop is your chance to:
- Learn about the six‑month activation timeline and key milestones
- Share initial ideas and feedback that will directly shape the site’s design
- Meet the Better Block team and ask questions about the process, materials, and community impact
Better Block’s proven 120‑day methodology puts local voices at the center of design, planning, and implementation. Throughout the activation, there will be hands‑on workshops where neighbors help build, paint, repair, plant, and celebrate. To learn more about this program, visit www.betterblock.org/sugar-land
