Sugar Land, TX – The grand finale of the Summer of Sound music festival is scheduled for July 6, at Oyster Creek Park, 4033 Highway 6.
The lineup follows:
- The DJ will begin at 7 p.m.
- MBK and Friends will perform from 8-8:45 p.m. Prepare to be captivated by MBK and Friends, a dynamic ensemble delivering an energetic and inspiring blend of 90's and 2000's hip-hop and R&B. Known for their exceptional musicianship and positive messages about love and life, the band features John MBK on keyboard and vocals, Ase on bass, Nuno on guitar and Snupe on drums.
- Lenora will perform from 9-9:45 p.m. Headlining the evening is Houston's very own funk and disco queen, Lenora. She became a breakout star in 2019 with her hit single "Relax," featuring legendary Houston rapper Slim Thug and super-producers Beanz and Kornbread. Lenora's single marked a major turning point in her career, earning Slim Thug's rare co-sign, which she describes as a significant honor.
"Slim doesn’t co-sign people like that," Lenora said. "Thugga has only been featured on two female projects in the past, including Beyoncé and Gwen Stefani. That speaks volumes."
The event is intended as an unforgettable evening at Oyster Creek Park, where the community is encouraged to gather to celebrate local talent and creativity.
The event promises an exciting lineup, convenient parking, and a vibrant atmosphere for all ages.
In addition to the musical performances, there will be a digital exhibition by the world-renowned artist collective Input Output. This creative media lab designs and develops mixed reality experiences, blending art and technology to create stunning visuals.
“This has been a magnificent journey,” said Sugar Land Civic Arts Manager Sha Davis, who expressed her excitement about the festival’s success. “Creating and curating a six-week festival, comprised completely of local talent and designed to serve our residents, was a well documented need. Having the honor to take on that task has been a dream come true. I am so grateful for our mayor and City Council, our city manager, the Parks and Recreation Department, and our incredible Public Works Department for their support and hard work. This took our entire workforce to bring to life, and I cannot imagine a better city to do it for!”
Parking opens at 6:30 p.m., and early arrival is encouraged to park on site. The public is encouraged to walk or bike to the event if possible.
Food trucks will be available on site, and the event is completely free. Bring picnic blankets, and enjoy a festive evening under the stars. Due to the Fourth of July weekend, parking will fill up fast, so arrive early!
