SUGAR LAND, TX —January 25, 2026 — At approximately 12:01 a.m., Sugar Land Police and Fire crews responded to a multi-vehicle accident on Burney Rd. at W. Airport Blvd. Upon arrival, officers learned that a gray Volvo was traveling northbound on Burney Road and ran a traffic signal at W. Airport Blvd, colliding with a white Lexus. A passenger in the Lexus sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Three additional individuals were transported to the hospital. Their conditions are unknown, at this time. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Sugar Land Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division. The driver of the Volvo did not show signs of impairment but consented to a blood specimen. Results are pending.
