The Community Rating System (CRS) is a program managed by the Insurance Services Office (ISO) for the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Eligible communities are awarded community-wide discounts to their flood insurance premiums for exceeding the basic provisions of NFIP participation, designed to further prevent future damages from flood events.
The City of Sugar Land currently holds a rating of Class 6, with a discount of up to 20%. When renewing your Flood Insurance Policy, please check for your “NFIP Community Number” stated on your policy; in Sugar Land, it should read “480234”. Should your policy indicate something other than the “Class 6” rating, and your property is within the Sugar Land city limits, please call your insurance agent in order to correct the error.
