Sugar Land 101

Sugar Land 101 allows residents to familiarize themselves with the structure, function, and purpose of city government.

Class Information

Classes will be held in-person and/or virtually, depending on social distancing guidelines. Details will be forthcoming.


Enrollment

Enrollment is limited and diversity is sought in class makeup. Classes are held Thursday evenings from 6-8:30 p.m. with one Saturday tour.

Eligible candidates must:

  • Currently reside within Sugar Land city limits 
  • Resident of Sugar Land at least one year and at least 21 years of age
  • Not currently holding or running for elected office in any city, school district, utility district, county, state or federal election
  • Willing to commit to attendance of all sessions and tours

If you are an existing Serve Sugar Land volunteer, please log into your account and click on "Application Forms" located in the upper banner of the page and select the Sugar Land 101 Application from the choices. This will autofill all of your current information on file. Please update with any changes and complete the new questions.

If you are a new volunteer, please click onto the "Get Started" link and start the volunteer process. Please select the Sugar Land 101 Application and complete it.
