Update: December 13, 2023
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) plans the following closures on U.S. Highway 59 near the Oyster Creek Bridge:
- Two southbound lanes (HOV and adjacent lane) on December 13 at 9 p.m. that will reopen the next day by 5 a.m.
- One northbound lane on December 14 at 10 p.m. that will reopen the next day by 5 a.m.
These closures are necessary to complete striping work as TxDOT continues work on their reconstruction project on the main lanes of the HWY 59 bridge at Oyster Creek.
Motorists are asked to be mindful of work crews, expect traffic delays, and when possible, avoid the area to prevent traffic congestion.
