SUGAR LAND, Texas – March 19, 2026 — Visit Sugar Land will host a series of World Cup 2026 Viewing Parties in conjunction with the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Houston Host Committee at Sugar Land Town Square, made possible through the  relationship of Visit Sugar Land as an Official Houston World Cup 2026 Host City Supporter.

Throughout the tournament, Sugar Land Town Square will serve as the city’s home base for match-day excitement, bringing fans together to cheer on teams from around the globe. Select marquee matches will include high-profile viewing days featuring Portugal, Mexico, Brazil and the United States Men’s National Team, among others.

 “This is the world’s biggest sporting event, and these official watch parties extend the energy across the entire Houston region,” said Chris Canetti, President of the FIFA World Cup™ Houston Host Committee. “By creating welcoming places for fans to gather and celebrate, communities like Sugar Land are helping ensure that more people can experience the spirit of the tournament together.”

WHAT: The City of Sugar Land is excited to host its annual International Art & Kite Festival, a vibrant community celebration featuring colorful kites, interactive art, and family-friendly activities that are free and open to the public. As an Official FIFA World Cup 2026™ Houston Host City Supporter, Sugar Land is kicking off the spring season featuring live art and soccer-themed fun, including the live artwork installation of two soccer ball murals painted by local artists.

Festival attendees can enjoy a main stage featuring cultural performances by local community groups and a special live performance by Bombón, featuring DJ Gracie Chavez, as well as chalk art competitions, food trucks and a beer garden sponsored by Saint Arnold Brewery. Guests will have the opportunity to explore artisan art and craft booths highlighting cultures from China, Nigeria, and Jamaica.

SUGAR LAND, TX, March 11, 2026 — The Sugar Land Police Department, along with Special Agents from the U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General, arrested a mail carrier on charges of Mail Theft. The case involves more than 50 victims and addresses, a First Degree Felony. 

After multiple reports of check forgeries were received over the past few months, a joint investigation was launched. Investigators identified an employee as a suspect and conducted surveillance, which led to an arrest on March 9, 2026. 

Jeland Mouton was found in possession of 226 pieces of mail addressed to more than 50 different individuals. Sixty-six of those items contained checks that could have been used to commit forgeries.  All mail was unopened and returned to the U.S. Postal Service for delivery.

As a reminder, residents are encouraged to take precautions themselves from check fraud. Regularly monitor bank accounts when writing checks to quickly identify unauthorized activity. Using gel pens can help prevent the chemical removal of ink from checks, and placing the check inside a folded piece of paper with the envelope to make them less visible.

Using  secure online or direct bill pay options can also help reduce the risk of check forgery.

SUGAR LAND, TX, March 6, 2026 —The Sugar Land Police Department completed an investigation that resulted in the arrest of 24-year old Mersi Gomez of Rosenberg, Texas for Continuous Sexual Abuse. Under Texas law, a person commits Continuous Sexual Abuse if, over a period of 30 or more days, the person commits two or more acts of sexual abuse against a child younger than 14 years of age. Continuous Sexual Abuse is a felony offense carrying a punishment of 25 years to life, and no probation in Texas.

SUGAR LAND, Texas – March 6, 2026 — As an Official Houston Host City Supporter of FIFA World Cup 2026™, the City of Sugar Land is preparing for its biggest International Art & Kite Festival on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Crown Festival Park, 183555 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, TX. This year, the unveiling of the Official Sugar Land 26 Poster will take place. This commemorative poster will help us celebrate an exciting year of soccer for Sugar Land! 

Residents are encouraged to bring their family and friends to enjoy a day of community kite flying, live art demonstrations, soccer activities, including fun giveaways from the Official FIFA World Cup 26™ Houston Host City tent, as well as cultural booths representing countries from around the world and a diverse lineup of food trucks and vendors. Throughout the festival, attendees can also engage in hands-on activities, meet artists and watch them create live works, and experience performances that highlight the diverse cultures of our community. Adults can unwind in the Beer Garden with Brush & Brew, a space to socialize and get creative, combining art, music and local beer. Guests 21 and over can enjoy guided painting sessions while sipping brew sponsored by Saint Arnold Brewing Company.

The event is free and open to the public. Free Shuttle service will be available from University of Houston-Sugar Land, with additional public parking at Brazos River Park and Crown Festival Park. Limited parking will be available on-site. Guests are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra time for traffic. SUGAR LAND, Texas – March 4, 2026 —The City of Sugar Land has launched the Sugar Land Starts Innovation Fund, a new economic development initiative designed to attract and incentivize high-growth, revenue-generating startups to relocate to Sugar Land. The program supports the city’s long-term vision to build a strong innovation ecosystem while revitalizing vacant office space.  

The performance-based, non-equity dilutive grant program targets startups operating within Sugar Land’s key industries, including life sciences, advanced manufacturing, information technology, and business and professional services. The fund aligns with the city’s Strategic Action Plan to stimulate growth for the local economy, create quality jobs, and position Sugar Land as a regional hub for innovation. 

“The Sugar Land Starts Innovation Fund is designed to support companies that are ready to grow and make a meaningful, long-term commitment to our community,” said Colby Millenbruch, business recruitment manager for the City of Sugar Land. “By focusing on revenue-generating startups and performance-based incentives, we are creating a clear pathway for innovative companies to scale while reenergizing existing office space.” 

To qualify, companies must be revenue-generating and demonstrate at least $250,000 in generated revenue or $500,000 in institutional backing from a bank or venture capital firm. Participating startups must commit to relocating a minimum of three full-time employees to Sugar Land for at least three years and meet an average annual salary requirement of $61,240. Salary compliance will be verified through Texas Workforce Commission reporting or other approved documentation. 

The Sugar Land Starts Innovation Fund builds on Sugar Land’s momentum following the launch of the Plug and Play partnership. Since officially moving to Sugar Land in March 2025, Plug and Play Sugar Land has supported 22 startups through its inaugural accelerator program, raising $6.5 million in capital. The initiative facilitated nearly 200 introductions with corporate partners, investors, and mentors and hosted 143 events both virtually and in Sugar Land. By the end of the first year, three startups secured investments, reinforcing Sugar Land’s growing role as a destination for innovation and entrepreneurial growth.

SUGAR LAND, TX – March 3, 2026 —The City of Sugar Land Parks & Recreation Department is kicking off a series of free pop-up soccer experiences designed to spark youth participation, promote physical activity, and bring the community together in celebration of the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026™ in Houston this summer.

Starting March 2026 through July 2026, neighborhood parks will be transformed into soccer pop-ups and welcoming spaces for informal soccer play, just in time for Spring Break. Children of all ages and skill levels are invited to enjoy open play, light skill-building activities, and a fun, low-pressure environment where families can connect and cheer each other on. The free pop-up soccer series reflects Sugar Land’s commitment to enhancing suburban community and encouraging community engagement.

The Pop-Up Soccer goals will be located at the following parks across the city:

SUGAR LAND, TX – February 26, 2026 — The City of Sugar Land is proud to announce the return of Lend a Hand Sugar Land, a community-wide volunteer initiative to help residents with simple home and yard tasks on Saturday, April 11, 2026. The day-long project is designed to support residents while strengthening neighborhood connections.

Now, in its second year, Lend a Hand Sugar Land continues to build momentum as a program that advances the city’s priorities of enhancing suburban community, encouraging community engagement, building resiliency, and supporting residents where they live. The initiative brings together volunteers, local businesses, nonprofits, and city partners for a single day of service focused on helping neighbors who may face physical, financial, or other barriers to completing routine maintenance tasks on their own.  

“Lend a Hand Sugar Land is about much more than helping a neighbor with their yardwork or paint project. It’s about showing up for one another in all the ways that truly matter, with our time and energy,” said Nicole Guevara, assistant director of Neighborhood Services. “As we move into our second year, we remain focused on building community connections so residents feel valued and seen.” 

Last year, Lend a Hand Sugar Land brought together more than 100 volunteers and community partners to complete 16 projects across the city, demonstrating the powerful impact of collective service totaling over 700 volunteer hours. In 2026, the city aims to expand participation, increase capacity, and reach even more residents. 

Call for Volunteers, Sponsors, and Donors 

The success of Lend a Hand Sugar Land depends on community involvement, and volunteers are essential. Residents, civic groups, faith organizations, student groups, and businesses are encouraged to sign up and lend their time and skills. 

The city is also seeking corporate sponsors and monetary donors to help cover supplies, tools, and materials. 

“Every contribution, no matter the size, directly supports the event and the residents it serves. This is a true grass roots effort,” said Nicole Guevara.  

Resident Applications Now Open 

Residents living within Sugar Land city limits, or individuals who know someone in need, are encouraged to apply for assistance. Projects are limited to simple, non-commercial tasks that can be completed by volunteers in one day. Applications will be reviewed based on need, capacity, and project scope.

As Lend a Hand Sugar Land enters its second year, the city invites the entire community to join a growing tradition of neighbors helping neighbors.

SUGAR LAND, Texas – February 25, 2026 —The City of Sugar Land’s Building Safety Team was recognized by City Council recently, for earning the city’s highest Insurance Services Office (ISO) Building Code Effectiveness Grading Schedule (BCEGS) score to date. The city received a 2 rating for commercial construction and a 3 rating for residential construction under the ISO BCEGS program, a nationally recognized evaluation of how effectively local governments adopt and enforce building codes. 

ISO uses a 1-to-10 scale, with 1 representing the highest rating, to evaluate staffing, training, plan review, inspections, code administration and consistency of enforcement. These scores are used by the insurance industry to assess community risk and may influence insurance ratings for properties within a city, potentially affecting insurance costs for homeowners and businesses.  

ISO BCEGS scores reflect a city’s commitment to public safety, construction quality and risk reduction. Strong ratings indicate that buildings are designed, reviewed and constructed in accordance with modern safety standards, which can help reduce property damage, loss of life and recovery costs following disasters. 

Sugar Land’s current rating represents a significant improvement from previous evaluations.  ISO conducts BCEGS evaluations every four years. City officials said Sugar Land continues to work toward higher ratings that could further strengthen safety outcomes and positively impact insurance costs for residents, with a long-term goal of earning a 1 commercial rating and a 2 residential rating, the highest possible scores under Texas law. 

The improvement reflects sustained efforts by the Building Safety Team to strengthen internal processes, technical expertise and coordination with development partners, while maintaining consistent enforcement of adopted codes. 

City Council’s recognition formally acknowledges the Building Safety Team’s role in protecting residents, businesses and infrastructure and supporting the city’s long-term resilience and economic stability. 

SUGAR LAND, Texas – February 13, 2026 — The City of Sugar Land Civic Arts Division, in partnership with First Colony Mall, is pleased to announce the selection of artist Sylvia Blanco for a commissioned mural project at First Colony Mall. With more than thirty submissions, the call for artists sought proposals that celebrate family, community, and togetherness, while drawing inspirations from Sugar Land's distinctive culture, environment and landscape. This partnership aims to beautify spaces, increase customer engagement, and create a positive atmosphere through art.

"Public art plays a critical role in shaping how people experience and connect with a place," said Sharee Davis, civic arts manager. "This partnership with First Colony Mall allows us to bring meaningful, high-quality artwork into one of Sugar Land's most active community spaces. Sylvia Blanco's work reflects the warmth, diversity, and sense of togetherness that define our city, and situating this mural near a family-centered area, like the indoor playground, reinforces our commitment to creating welcoming, inspiring environments for residents and visitors of all ages."

Sylvia Blanco is a self-taught artist, and her work includes small and large-scale murals, street art, live painting, chalk art, and community-based projects. Her work has been featured at the Houston Grand Opera, Telemundo, and our own Smart Financial Centre.

"I've long admired the Civic Arts Division's work across the city and have been eager to collaborate on bringing an inspiring art installation to First Colony Mall. We look forward to building upon our partnership with the City of Sugar Land," said Shenea Bankhead, general manager of First Colony Mall. "This mural isn't just about beautifying a space, it's about reflecting the values we live by: building mutual trust, taking initiative, acting with integrity, and winning together. SUGAR LAND, Texas – February 12, 2026 — The City of Sugar Land is calling on local and regional artists to bring creativity, culture, and community spirit to life through a Mural Art Commission. This Request for Proposal (RFP) invites artists living or working in Sugar Land or Fort Bend County to submit proposals for a site-specific mural celebrating family, community, and togetherness, while capturing the excitement and global energy of professional soccer. Selected artwork will debut during the International Art & Kite Festival at Crown Festival Park and later be installed in a highly visible public location within the city. 

Artists will design and paint a 36-inch fiberglass soccer ball, transforming the three-dimensional form into a bold, engaging work of public art. Designs should draw inspiration from the sport of soccer and the global excitement of international competition while remaining original and reflective of Sugar Land’s distinctive culture, environment, and people. 

Selected artists will be provided with a scheduled opportunity to prime and prep the 36-inch fiberglass soccer ball in advance of the live painting session. This preparation period is intended to support high-quality execution during the public installation and allow artists to focus on detail, storytelling, and engagement during the festival.

To Strengthen Office Market and Support Smart Growth

New incentive program modernizes professional office space, boosts occupancy, and advances economic vision.

SUGAR LAND, Texas – February 9, 2026 —The City of Sugar Land has launched the Office Readiness Program, a new economic development initiative designed to modernize the city’s office inventory, increase occupancy, and position Sugar Land for long-term, balanced growth.

The Office Readiness Program provides financial incentives to property owners and office tenants who invest in upgrading professional office buildings within eligible office corridors. The program encourages office-type users currently operating in industrial or flex spaces to relocate into true professional office environments, while preserving limited industrial land for advanced manufacturing, logistics, and life sciences employers.

“This program is about preparing Sugar Land for what is next,” said Mayor Carol K. McCutcheon. “By strengthening our office market, we are supporting quality job growth, attracting high-caliber employers, and ensuring our community remains competitive in the region. The Office Readiness Program reflects our commitment to purposeful progress and workforce-focused growth that aligns with today’s needs.”

The Office Readiness Program replaces the City’s previous Office Headquarters incentive policy, shifting the focus toward revitalizing vacant and underutilized office buildings. Incentives support building modernization, infrastructure upgrades, and tenant improvements that enhance marketability and meet today’s workplace expectations.

Through performance-based agreements, the Sugar Land Development Corporation may reimburse up to 50% of eligible improvement costs for qualifying projects. The program prioritizes professional office uses located within designated office corridors and supports targeted industries such as business and professional services, information technology, corporate headquarters, and life sciences.

“Modern office environments are essential for companies looking to grow, recruit talent, and operate efficiently,” said Jennifer Alexander, Business Development Manager for the City of Sugar Land. “The Office Readiness Program is a collaborative tool that helps property owners reinvest in their buildings, helps businesses find the right space, and helps the city maintain a balanced and resilient economy. It truly is a help us, help you approach.”

The program also supports adaptive reuse of older office buildings, creation of move-in-ready speculative office space, and increased occupancy in established office corridors. By transitioning office users out of industrial and flex facilities, Sugar Land can better align land use with long-term economic goals and preserve industrial areas for innovation-driven employers.

SUGAR LAND, TX, February 7, 2026 – Firefighters responded to a residential structure fire at approximately 1:34 p.m. at a home in the 3300 block of Pecan Point Dr. in The Highlands subdivision. Crews arrived to find an active fire in a two-story residence and began fire suppression and search operations. During the incident, one firefighter sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. Another firefighter was transported for evaluation. No civilian injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. 

The Sugar Land Fire Department would like to thank our partner agencies for their assistance. Our thoughts are with the injured firefighter and their family. 

Council action advances master developer selection, RFQ up next

SUGAR LAND, Texas – February 3, 2026 — The City of Sugar Land approved the final Vision Statement and Guiding Pillars for the Imperial Historic District, establishing a community-driven framework for redevelopment and advancing the City toward issuing a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to find a master development partner.

The vision statement and guiding pillars outline the priorities that will shape future redevelopment of the approximately 40-acre Imperial Historic District, including the iconic Imperial Sugar Char House and surrounding historic structures. Together, they provide clear direction for potential development partners as the City prepares to release an RFQ on February 25.

In November 2025, the City and consultant Town Planning & Urban Design Collaborative (TPUDC) hosted a series of community visioning sessions across multiple days, locations and formats to ensure broad participation and accessibility. Hundreds of residents, business owners, stakeholders and community leaders took part in the process. The resulting vision is intended to serve as a shared playbook for future decision-making, rather than a fixed blueprint.

The approved vision statement sets the overarching direction for the Imperial Historic District: 

“An authentically Sugar Land district designed for our future.”

Four core themes emerged through community feedback to support and advance this vision:

• Tell the Story: A place that preserves the district’s industrial character and cultural heritage while positioning the site for a bold and vibrant future
• Create a Living District: A place that is activated throughout the day and night – energized by food, events and local experiences – and designed to be flexible and adaptable to long-term market changes
• Design for Gathering: A place that is welcoming, where all ages and backgrounds gather and feel at home
• Connect and Enhance Mobility: A place that is walkable and well-connected, integrates Oyster Creek and surrounding neighborhoods, and is easy to get to and move through

“This vision reflects what our community told us they want for the Imperial Historic District,” said Mayor Carol K. McCutcheon. “When we say ‘our future’ in the vision statement, we mean Sugar Land as a whole—our city and our people. SUGAR LAND, TX —January 25, 2026 — At approximately 12:01 a.m., Sugar Land Police and Fire crews responded to a multi-vehicle accident on Burney Rd. at W. Airport Blvd. Upon arrival, officers learned that a gray Volvo was traveling northbound on Burney Road and ran a traffic signal at W. Airport Blvd, colliding with a white Lexus. A passenger in the Lexus sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Three additional individuals were transported to the hospital. Their conditions are unknown, at this time. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Sugar Land Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division. The driver of the Volvo did not show signs of impairment but consented to a blood specimen. Results are pending.

SUGAR LAND, TX—January 14, 2026 —Sugar Land is proud to announce that Results for America has awarded it Bloomberg Philanthropies What Works Cities Certification for establishing exceptional data capabilities to inform policy, allocate funding, improve services, evaluate programs, and engage residents. The What Works Cities Certification standard reflects the practices, policies, and infrastructure municipalities must have in place to effectively harness data for better decision-making.

“Achieving Gold Certification from Bloomberg Philanthropies What Works Cities is a proud milestone for Sugar Land. It shows how our commitment to data-driven decision-making allows us to better serve our residents,” said Mayor Carol K. McCutcheon. “Moving from Silver to Gold reflects our dedication to making decisions rooted in the needs and priorities of our community, and we look forward to building on this momentum.”

A notable example of Sugar Land’s use of data is its focus on measuring the effectiveness of programs and services. For example, one evaluation found that increasing mosquito spraying didn’t affect mosquito populations, evidence that helps the City save resources and explore more potent mosquito control solutions. Every evaluation is tied to the City’s strategic priorities and shared publicly to increase transparency and accountability.

The What Works Cities Certification program, launched in 2017 by Bloomberg Philanthropies and led by Results for America, is the international standard of data excellence in city governance. The Standard measures a city’s use of data based on 43 criteria. A city that achieves 51–67% of the 43 criteria is recognized at the Silver level of Certification, 68–84% is required to achieve Gold, and 85% or more is required to reach Platinum. The program is open to any city in North, Central, or South America with a population of 30,000 or more.

These improvements enhance comfort, accessibility, and overall user experiences.

2025 Parks and Facility Enhancements

Over the past year, Parks and Recreation delivered the following upgrades and additions:

• Imperial Park
  • Installation of a new shade structure to enhance comfort for park users
  • Opening of a new cardio and weight room at the Imperial Park Recreation Center
  • Gym floor restriping at the Imperial Park Recreation Center to support safe and flexible programming
• Brazos River Park
  • Addition of a new playground shade structure, expanding usable outdoor space during warmer months
  • Installation of a new water mister to provide cooling relief during hot weather
  • Annual reforestation and wildflower seeding to enhance open space and pollinator habitat
• Sugar Land Memorial Park
  • Completion of additional permeable parking spaces, increasing capacity and sustainability
  • New upgrades and enhancements at the Butterfly Garden to improve the visitor experience and support pollinator education
  • New pavilion with seating, rainwater harvesting, art and signage was installed at the lake loop to allow for more rest areas and shady spots to take a break
• City Park and Park at the Levee
  • Construction of new pickleball courts and additional tree planting, responding to growing community demand for the sport and shade
  • Community Centers and Meeting Spaces
  • New flooring and facility upgrades at:
    • Clyde and Nancy Jacks
    • Eldridge Community Center

  • Design and installation of a new entrance gate, restoring the site’s historical character

Funding and Stewardship

These park and facility improvements were made possible through a diverse mix of funding sources, including grants, 4B funding, revenue generation, and other dedicated resources. This balanced approach allows the City to reinvest in community spaces while maintaining long-term fiscal responsibility.

In conjunction with these improvements, the Parks and Recreation Department has introduced updated fees starting in 2026. While most increases are modest, they are necessary to help bridge the gap created by rising operational and maintenance costs. These adjustments ensure the City can continue to maintain high-quality parks, facilities, and exceptional event spaces that serve the community now and into the future.

Long-Term Planning for a Growing Community

In addition to the physical improvements completed in 2025, the Parks and Recreation Department continues to take a strategic, forward-looking approach to long-term planning. The City is currently engaged in two major planning efforts that will help guide future investments and programming:

• Hunden Sports Tourism Feasibility Study, which is evaluating opportunities to expand sports tourism, attract regional and national events, and strengthen Sugar Land’s position as a premier destination for tournaments and athletic competitions.
• Senior Center Study, which is assessing current and future needs of older adults to ensure facilities, programs, and services continue to evolve alongside Sugar Land’s growing senior population. Residents are invited to attend the final upcoming public open house on Thursday, January 29 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the T.E. Harman Center, where they can learn more about the study and provide feedback on the proposed options for a future Senior Center.

These planning efforts, alongside recent capital investments and thoughtful fee updates, reinforce the City’s commitment to delivering high-quality amenities while planning responsibly for long-term growth and sustainability.

"Yesterday evening, four suspects charged with Aggravated Robbery of a CVS near Greatwood, assaulted our Jailer and escaped from the Detention Center. Within minutes, our Officers and multiple agencies responded to the search. In less than an hour and a half, all four suspects were located and recaptured. For that reason, I would like to thank the Houston Police Department, Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, Rosenberg Police, Missouri City Police, DPS and the U.S. Marshals, and several other law enforcement agencies, for their collaborative efforts in recapturing the suspects.

Thankfully, our Jailer is recovering at home with his family.

The incident is, currently, under criminal and administrative review. As always, when incidents like this occur, we review processes and procedures.

All four suspects remain in custody at the Fort Bend County Jail.

SUGAR LAND, TX, January 11, 2026 — Earlier this afternoon, at approximately 4:50 p.m., an SLPD Jailer went to check on one of the four prisoners detained from this morning's aggravated robbery arrest. When he opened the jail cell, he was assaulted. Subsequently, the suspect was able to release the other prisoners and they escaped. At approximately 6:20 p.m., the four suspects were located and taken back into custody. The Jailer was transported to a hospital and is in stable condition.

SUGAR LAND, TX, January 11, 2026 — The Sugar Land Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division is investigating an aggravated robbery that occurred at the CVS in the Greatwood area. The incident happened on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at approximately 1:56 a.m. when four Black males entered the CVS located at 1410 Crabb River Rd. The suspects physically assaulted the store clerk before fleeing with a bag of cash. The clerk sustained minor injuries and did not require hospital transport. Houston Police were notified, and a pursuit ensued, resulting in one suspect being apprehended. Through coordinated efforts with HPD, all four suspects are in custody and face multiple charges. The case remains under investigation.

SUGAR LAND, Texas – January 7, 2026 – The City of Sugar Land has approved a $1 million performance-based incentive to support the expansion of Hope Biosciences, a leading Sugar Land-based biopharmaceutical company specializing in adult stem cell-based therapeutics. 

As part of its growth strategy, Hope Biosciences recently purchased its existing facility at 16700 Creek Bend Drive, securing a permanent home in Sugar Land. The company will invest $2 million in building improvements and equipment and create 15 new jobs over the next five years with an average annual salary of $61,240. 

The incentive provided through the Sugar Land Office of Economic Development & Tourism, will be distributed over five years at $200,000 annually. The agreement helps ensure the retention of a growing, federally recognized biopharmaceutical operation with a Regenerative Medicine Advanced Therapy (RMAT) designation and enables facility improvements that expand long-term manufacturing capacity. 

“Hope Biosciences is a homegrown success story and a key example of how life science companies can thrive in Sugar Land,” said Jennifer Alexander, Business Development Manager. “This incentive marks the first granted to a life sciences company and signals our commitment to supporting this sector, which is critical to our city’s economic future.”

Founded in Sugar Land, Hope Biosciences develops groundbreaking therapies using stem cells derived from a patient’s own body to regenerate or repair damaged tissues and treat conditions including neurodegenerative and autoimmune diseases. The company operates a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)-compliant manufacturing facility and is the only company in the United States offering clinical-grade stem cell banking for both adults and newborns.
