Project Update: January 16, 2019
Construction of a permanent, raised median will begin at the intersection of Dairy Ashford Rd. and Parklane Blvd. on January 29. Traffic on Parklane will no longer be able to cross through Dairy Ashford. Eastbound and westbound traffic will have to turn right at Dairy Ashford. This change is necessary to ensure safety along this intersection, prevent accidents, and improve mobility on this high traffic road.
Dairy Ashford is being widened from four lanes to six lanes at this intersection. A project design-phase traffic study identified the potential of vehicles crossing six lanes of traffic as a safety issue. Project design then incorporated the raised median to prevent cross traffic and address safety concerns.

Update: January 7
Construction work is progressing northward on Dairy Ashford, and work necessary to prepare for a temporary traffic signal at U.S. Highway 90A is scheduled to begin on Jan. 7.
Under the guidance of an arborist, the city has proactively worked with the construction consultant to minimize tree removal. These efforts have already saved 15 trees, and we will continue to conduct field assessments as the project progresses to possibly save more trees.
