Council Member Suzanne Whatley
Elected to a three-year term serving District One, Suzanne Whatley is a 27-year resident of Sugar Land, a small business owner of 19 years, a commercial property owner in District One, a mother of five, and an avid community leader in Sugar Land. With a business background, sincere interest in community service, and love of governance, she brings unique perspective and experience to City Council representing District One.
As a member of the city council, she currently serves on the Sugar Land Development Corporation (SLDC), Intergovernmental Relations Committee, Finance/Audit Committee, TIRZ No. 3 and the Houston-Galveston Area Council Transportation Policy Committee. Past committee service includes Compensation Committee and Sugar Land 4B Corporation (SL4B).
Her husband of 32 years, Brad also owns a small business in Sugar Land and shares her passion in serving the community.
