The City's Mobility Master Plan and Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan outline the vision of superior mobility in Sugar Land. Burney Rd was identified as a high priority corridor in these plans to address traffic blockages, congestion, and challenges for pedestrians and other forms of transportation during peak travel times.

Potential realignment of Stadium Dr. at Burney Rd., multimodal safety modifications (widening of current sidewalk to a side path and connecting gaps from Stadium Dr. to 7th St.) along Burney Rd./Main St. for current and anticipated increase in traffic due to the Imperial redevelopment.

  1. How will the City coordinate timing with other projects to manage the impact of street construction projects on the community, neighborhoods and businesses?
  2. Project descriptions on some street projects seem general. What is the actual scope of these projects?
  3. For projects that include the building of sidepaths, what are the initial designs, and which side of the road will they be located?
  4. Will boulevard projects entail their moving and/or reduction similar to Williams Trace? If so, how many existing trees along the streets might be at risk?
  5. How long will the projects take and what will be the impact of the road construction on traffic?
  6. Trees appear to be a contributing factor to sidewalk safety issues. Will you be cutting them down, or does the bond cover the costs of relocating them?
