The City makes use of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) to address traffic issues and congestion as outlined in the Mobility Master Plan.

Mobility concerns from residents have increased due in part to development around the City. Resident feedback shows traffic and mobility concerns are one of the highest issues in the City currently.

  1. How will the City coordinate timing with other projects to manage the impact of street construction projects on the community, neighborhoods and businesses?
  2. Project descriptions on some street projects seem general. What is the actual scope of these projects?
  3. For projects that include the building of sidepaths, what are the initial designs, and which side of the road will they be located?
  4. Will boulevard projects entail their moving and/or reduction similar to Williams Trace? If so, how many existing trees along the streets might be at risk?
  5. How long will the projects take and what will be the impact of the road construction on traffic?
  6. Trees appear to be a contributing factor to sidewalk safety issues. Will you be cutting them down, or does the bond cover the costs of relocating them?
  7. How does the City prioritize which sidewalks will be repaired?
  8. How are decisions made on which street reconstruction projects are prioritized?
  9. Why do some street projects mention a match from Fort Bend County's mobility bond?
