The City's Mobility Master Plan outlines the vision of superior mobility in Sugar Land. The plan includes creating space for all means of transportation, including active means such as walking, bicycling and other mobility options. The recently completed First Colony Trail and the future Sugar Land Trail Phase 1 & 2 will provide new connections to the heart of the City.

This project will receive approximately a 50% match from the 2023 Fort Bend County Mobility Bond. The listed project cost reflects the City contribution towards the project should voters approve the bond referendum.

  1. How will the City coordinate timing with other projects to manage the impact of street construction projects on the community, neighborhoods and businesses?
  2. Project descriptions on some street projects seem general. What is the actual scope of these projects?
  3. For projects that include the building of sidepaths, what are the initial designs, and which side of the road will they be located?
  4. Will boulevard projects entail their moving and/or reduction similar to Williams Trace? If so, how many existing trees along the streets might be at risk?
  5. How long will the projects take and what will be the impact of the road construction on traffic?
  6. Trees appear to be a contributing factor to sidewalk safety issues. Will you be cutting them down, or does the bond cover the costs of relocating them?
