Establishment
Ordinance No. 1633 on July 03, 2007 created a Building Standards Commission and renamed the Building Codes Board of Adjustment and Appeals as the Building Standards Commission as established by the Sugar Land City Council January 1990.
Purpose
The commission is a quasi-judicial panel consisting of members who have knowledge of the property maintenance codes and are qualified by experience and training to decide matters related to building construction and property maintenance. Activities of the commission are limited to those authorities granted by state statute.
