Rain Barrel Program

Since 2022, the City of Sugar Land has proudly offered residents an opportunity to purchase discounted rain barrels, making it easier for our community to practice rainwater harvesting within city limits. This popular program helps residents save water, lower outdoor water use, and make a positive environmental impact right at home.

What is Rainwater Harvesting?

Rainwater harvesting is the process of capturing, storing, and using rainwater for non-potable purposes, like irrigation and gardening. This practice helps conserve water and reduces reliance on the municipal water supply. Since Sugar Land can sometimes average up to 50 inches of rain per year, our city is a great place to put this practice into action! By harvesting rainwater, we can make a better use of our resources and help protect our environment.

Our vendor provides barrels that are simple to use and of a quality you can trust. Click here to order to rain barrel today.

Sales are open now through March 15th - don't miss out on this opportunity to participate in one of our most popular conservation programs!
