Lt. David Amodio began his law enforcement career a little later in life. He grew up in New York and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business. From there, he worked in the private sector for the next 15 years, married, and began a family. He grew tired of the business world and decided to seek a career where helping people and giving to the community were centric to his daily work.
He tested, interviewed, and was hired by the SLPD in 2007 and moved down from New York with his family. Lt. Amodio has been a Field Training Officer and Coordinator, member of the Special Response Team, the Impact Team, and, later, a Night Shift Patrol Sergeant. He was also a Sergeant over Criminal Investigations before promoting to Lieutenant. Lt. Amodio currently serves as a supervisor over Day Shift, Bike Patrol, the Emergency Operations Center, and the Contract Officers. He is excited to return as the Beat Manager for Beat 5.
