[ARCHIVED] Voting Now Open for Sugar Land Civic Arts Graffiti Mural Competition

Sugar Land, TX – The Sugar Land Civic Arts Division invites residents to cast their votes in the final round of the Graffiti Mural Competition, a community engagement initiative in partnership with the Sugar Land Parks and Recreation Department and Sugar Land Little League.

This project is intended to transform two shipping containers near a local baseball field into vibrant murals celebrating both the beauty of nature and the spirit of baseball.

Residents now have the opportunity to choose between two final designs in each category: Nature and Baseball

“Both categories are currently tied, and we need your votes to determine the winning artists who will bring their vision to life,” said Sugar Land Civic Arts Manager Sha Davis.  “This initiative aims to highlight local talent while beautifying public spaces and fostering a sense of community pride.”

Voting is open now and will close at 7 p.m. on Oct. 1. To vote, residents can view the designs and cast their votes at https://form.jotform.com/sugarlandculturalarts/GraffitiCompetition.

“The Graffiti Mural Competition is a unique opportunity to showcase the creativity and talent of local artists while creating meaningful, community-driven public art,” said Davis. “We’re thrilled to have the community’s input in selecting the final designs and can’t wait to see the winning pieces come to life. Join us in making Sugar Land an even more vibrant and culturally enriched community through art. Together, we can bridge community and nature, creating a lasting legacy for generations to come.”

The two winning designs—one from each theme—will be unveiled at a community celebration following the live painting of the murals. Don’t miss the chance to help shape this artistic transformation!
