The social media outreach from the City of Sugar Land aims to engage and inform the community through distribution of City news releases, media alerts, emergency City service notifications, City events, and general Sugar Land information.

City of Sugar Land Community Guidelines

The City encourages residents and visitors to share comments, ideas and concerns on all of our social media platforms. The City of Sugar Land reserves the right to hide or delete any comments or posts that violate the following guidelines:

  • Respect copyright and fair use laws
  • No profanity or content that is abusive, threatening or obscene.
  • No hate speech
  • No content that promotes, fosters violence or perpetuates discrimination including cyberbullying and harassment
  • No spam or promotional content including posting the same content multiple times on a channel
  • No nudity or sexual content
  • No comments/posts that are clearly off-topic, that promote services or products, or that promote or oppose any political party, person campaigning for elected office, or any ballot proposition;
  • Direct and personal communication in the course of a trade or business
  • No sharing of personal contact information, yours or someone else's.
  • No misleading or deceptive information
