Commercial Solid Waste, Liquid Waste, & Recycling Services

Overview

The City of Sugar Land regulates all commercial solid waste, liquid waste, and recyclable material operations to ensure safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible service.

All operators collecting, transporting, or disposing of these materials must obtain a City license and comply with Chapter 4, Article V of the City Code of OrdinancesCommercial Solid Waste, Liquid Waste, and Recyclable Material Operators.

All commercial service providers in the following categories must obtain a license through the City’s Citizen Self Service (CSS) Portal before operating within Sugar Land:

  • Solid Waste Operators
  • Liquid Waste Operators
  • Recyclable Material Operators

Applications are accepted only through the CSS online portal — paper applications are not accepted.

Starting a commercial recycling program

The City of Sugar Land is ready to help you get started by providing a free waste audit. We will meet with you to customize a recycling program to fit your companies' needs and budget. Schedule a waste audit by sending an email to solidwasterequests@sugarlandtx.gov. Remember, if your company is not recycling, you are throwing money away!
